There are two future tenses in Russian, the simple future (perfective) and the compound future (imperfective).
The Compound Future
- It is used when you don’t want to state that the action will be completed or will have a result, or when the action will be repeated regularly.
Formation
The verb быть (conjugated in the future) + imperfective infinitive
Завтра я буду отдыхать. (Tomorrow I will rest.)
Завтра ты будешь работать. (You will be working tomorrow.)
Завтра он будет звонить мне. (He will call me tomorrow.)
Завтра мы будем переводить текст. (We are going to translate a text tomorrow.)
Завтра вы будете стирать? (Are you going to do the washing tomorrow?)
Завтра они будут рисовать. (They are going to do some drawing tomorrow.)
The Simple Future
- It is used when you want to express the intention of completing a single act, or of achieving a result.
